We are Matt and Leslie Keener, a husband and wife wedding photography team based in Charlotte, NC. Both born and bred North Carolinians, our favorite kind of wedding is one where sweet tea is served, the groom wears a bow tie, and the bride carries a bouquet of fresh peonies. We believe in clean, classic wedding photography with a fun, modern twist…timeless yet still current. Our approach to photography is part fine art and part photojournalism; we want our subjects to look fresh, natural and beautiful. We feel our job is one that holds a great amount of weight as the purveyors of memories frozen and love captured for the eyes of generations to come.
Besides working together, we love to take Starbucks breaks together, eat ice cream together and try new restaurants and recipes. We love our little shih-tzu, Gizmo, and we love going to our church on Sundays. We love springtime and fall.We love that we're both from the South and we definitely drink a lot of sweet tea and consider ourselves authorities on Southern cuisine.

Our Favorite Things
Fringe
A crazy awesome sci-fi show that we LOVE to watch together! You have to have your thinking cap on when you sit down to watch Fringe and that's why we like it.
We know all the words to the Pinkberry song and can't help but hum the tune when we step into a Pinkberry store. Our favorite is the plain tart flavor with strawberries, blueberries and chocolate shavings.
Bobby Flay is our favorite and most trusted chef! It all started when we watched him make a hot dog with a whole pickle, bbq sauce and white cheddar cheese. We tried the recipe and we were hooked. If we're ever looking for a recipe to impress, we turn to Bobby.
We stared longingly at the various cakepops on the internet for awhile, too scared to attempt them. This past Christmas we finally got brave and did it and to say they were a huge hit would be the understatement of the year! And really, it's a bite of cake on a stick..what's not to love?
We LOVE food, and love trying new recipes. Matt's speciality is grilling, meat, and coming up with ideas. Leslie's specialty is baking, general cooking technique, and making his ideas happen.
Elevation Church is the place we are so happy to call our church home! We love going every Sunday and are so excited to see how this church is impacting our city.
Fall is our time to bake with pumpkin, break out the cozy sweaters and plaid scarves and bust out the crockpot for slow cooking soups and stews. And of course, it's time for pumpkin spice lattes!
Gizmo is our three-year-old, ball of fur. He is a shih-tzu who is loyal, sweet, hyper and has an affinity for sweet potatoes. He's our best little buddy and we love to take walks with him and treat him like a human.
Matt is the biggest Harry Potter fan between us. He's read all the books, some multiple times, we've seen all the movies..in the theater.. and now he's campaigning for a trip to Harry Potter World at Universal!
We know, we know, Honda is kind of boring. We love both of our Hondas. They're kind of like your favorite old sneakers. They're reliable, comfortable, and cost effective. Simple yes, but sometimes simple is good.
We're such suckers for Ikea. We totally buy into the idea of buying furniture so cheap that it doesn't matter if it falls apart a few years down the road. Because by then? We'll want something new anyway!
We just recently tried Indian food for the first time about a year ago, and quickly realized we had been missing out big time! Now we can even make our own tzatziki sauce!
We look like complete FOOLS playing it, and feel like complete FOOLS playing it, but it sure is fun! And a bonus- it totally counts as exercise if you really get into it!
It takes some serious talent to make an old man riding around on balloons make you cry … but the brilliant people at Pixar can do it! Wall-E and Up are two of our favorites right now.
We hate summer, but LOVE the springtime! After coming out of winter hibernation, there's nothing better than sundresses, madras plaid, lunch on the porch and blooming flowers!
Oooh, Starbucks- our guilty, expensive addiction. We somehow always find an excuse to go a couple times a week for vanilla lattes- hot in the winter, iced in the summer!
Super Target to be exact. We are lucky enough to have a Super Target just 5 minutes down the road and don't think we can ever live in a place that doesn't have one close by. It's the greatest one stop shop on the planet!
I'm the guilty one on Twilight. I sped through all 4 books in about 3 weeks time, and I've dragged Matt not only to the movie theater to see all the movies thus far, but to the midnight showing of each one!
